KARNOVSKY'S FIXATIVE is a mixture of glutaraldehyde and buffered paraformaldehyde, primarily used in electron microscopy to preserve cellular structures. It helps maintain the integrity of membranes and organelles while minimizing artifacts. This fixative is essential for the fixation of biological samples before electron microscopy observation and is also used in histology and cell biology to study cell morphology.
Available with a 0.1 M phosphate buffer or a 0.1 M cacodylate buffer.
