SECURBIOP – TISSUFIX®

TISSUFIX® is a neutral buffered formalin solution that fixes tissues 35% to 40% faster than 10% buffered formalin. Faster fixation prevents tissue necrosis and better preserves the proteins targeted for identification in immunohistochemistry. Additionally, it hardens tissues, making sectioning easier.

TISSUFIX® is available in containers equipped with special technology that prevents any contact between the operator and formalin (both the substance and its vapors) during sample collection.

What is SecurBiop® Double?

This exclusive and patented technology consists of a special system composed of two connected containers and a rotating valve. One of the containers is pre-filled with concentrated TISSUFIX®, and the other contains an aqueous solution. Formalin is released into the collection container only when it is perfectly sealed, thus exposing the sample to the fixative without any exposure to or release of toxic vapors into the environment.

How to use

• Open the SecurBiop 10+10 ml container and remove the vial containing the collection solution.
• Place the sample in the vial.
• Close the container by screwing the TISSUFIX® vial onto the collection vial.
• Immediately activate the selector by turning it counterclockwise until it reaches a vertical position. This allows the fixative to transfer to the collection vial and reconstitute the TISSUFIX® fixation solution.
• Tilt the container at a 45° angle to facilitate the liquid's flow. Wait for the liquid to drain completely.
• Turn the selector clockwise to its initial position to prevent TISSUFIX® from returning to the other vial.
• The sample is now in the fixative container and can be transported to the appropriate service.
