Scott’s tap water substitute is a histological and cytological reagent that replaces tap water in H&E staining protocols, it provides rapid and accurate bluing of nuclear chromatin and cell nucleus membranes. It works by gradually bluing the hematoxylin stain and minimizes the loss of tissue sections and cells from the surface of glass slides.

Scott’s tap water substitute is a ready to use solution and should be not diluted before use.
