Southgate's mucicarmine staining reagent allows histological visualization of acidic mucopolysaccharides in tissue sections, this product is useful to distinguish squamous cell lesions that are undifferentiated and negative for mucin from adenocarcinomas positive for mucin.
In addition, this product will allow the staining of the mucopolysaccharide capsule of Cryptococcus neoformans.
