NEUTRAL BUFFER, pH 7.2 to 7.3
The 2.5% neutral buffered glutaraldehyde fixative (pH 7.2 to 7.3) in a 0.1 M cacodylate buffer is mainly used in electron microscopy and histology.
It allows for effective fixation of tissue samples due to its ability to cross-link proteins and other cellular components, thereby preserving and stabilizing cellular structures.
