Scott’s tap water substitute is a histological and cytological reagent that replaces tap water in H&E staining protocols, it provides rapid and accurate bluing of nuclear chromatin and cell nucleus membranes. It works by gradually bluing the hematoxylin stain and minimizes the loss of tissue sections and cells from the surface of glass slides.
Scott’s tap water substitute is a concentrated solution and should be diluted before use.
Dilution:
Add nine (9) parts water to one (1) part concentrate.
