The joys and challenges of parasitology

Ahhh parasites, what wonderful memories I have of this period of my studies! Microbiology was already fascinating because of its contact with living organisms, but parasites, bigger than bacteria but more elusive and difficult to isolate and identify, were the stuff of my fantasies.

Let's get down to brass tacks: we've got plenty of products that can be useful to those in this noble profession. First of all, we offer pre-filled containers of SAF, the fixative of choice for those unappetizing samples. Then, when used fixative liquid is left, our Agent Zero comes in handy to detoxify the formalin it contains, eliminate odors and enable safe and secure disposal.

Then, during the formalin-ether concentration method, the latter can be advantageously replaced by our Solvent 2000, which is less toxic, less volatile and flammable, and more pleasant to use.

And for staining protozoan cysts, you can choose between our Lugol's iodine and our Dobell & O'connorf ormulation. This distinguishes them from white blood cell nuclei, which will not stain.

Just goes to show, even if we specialize in histological techniques, we still need to be known in other laboratories!
