ECONOMY OF PROXIMITY

At chaptec  , we’ve chosen a responsible way to serve hospitals and affiliated health services.

In 2007, we set up a recovery program for our customers and, five years later, a recycling program aimed at reducing their ecological footprint while considerably reducing the costs of disposing of containers considered “hazardous materials.” We continue our research in this perspective to better serve the interests of our customers and those of the planet.

REUSE OF EMPTY CONTAINERS PROGRAM

This program allows the recovery and refill of reusable plastic containers, and to have them returned to the same user to fill their subsequent order.

Containers are specifically identified for each facility
Empty 4L, 10L and 20L containers are recapped and never used for another product.
4L containers are returned in their shipping box.
Containers are forwarded to the designated shipping service and accumulated on a pallet.
Once a sufficient number of recovered containers have been accumulated (30 to 40 boxes), chaptec  is notified and all is wrapped on the pallet which will be picked up without delay and without charge by the designated carrier.
A transport document specifying the number and type of containers is prepared by the person in charge of the facility.

List of products whose containers of 4L, 10L and 20L can be reused:

TISSUFIX® liquid fixative
10% Neutral Buffered Formalin liquid fixative
Denatured Ethyl Alcohol (anhydrous and 95%)
Methanol
Toluene
Xylene

REDUCING YOUR ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT

The environment is everyone's business and chaptec  is proud to join forces with any facility interested in taking concrete action, while significantly reducing the costs of disposing containers considered « hazardous materials ».

WASTE SOLVENTS RECYCLING PROGRAM

This unique program allows the recovery of a significant portion of the solvents used by pathology and cytology departments which can be recycled and reused.

chaptec  and the participating services together identify the solvents that can be recycled.
They agree on the size of the plastic containers (10L, 20L or 100L) that will be provided free of charge to allow the retrieval of these solvents. Different containers will be used for each product.
Containers are forwarded to the designated shipping service and accumulated on a pallet.
When a sufficient volume of solvents is gathered (between 200L and 400L), chaptec  is notified and then everything is wrapped on the pallet to be picked up without charge and without delay by chaptec  ’s designated carrier.
A transport document specifying the number and type of containers is prepared by the person in charge of the facility.

THE IMPACT OF RESPONSIBLE RECYCLING

Recover to recycle and save up to 35% of the purchasing cost of your solvents (the cost of sending them for destruction).
Such a program requires the participation of several stakeholders (from the laboratories to the receiving department) to ensure its success both in terms of product quality control and safe and secure handling.
